History

In the year 1961, we emerged as the first Japanese business to develop and manufacture Truck Mounted Crane by the name UNIC 100. This crane has the lifting capacity of 1 ton and we have also developed many others. Later in the year 1979, we came up with Radi-Con radiowave remote control and Remo-Con wired remote control. Other innovations of our company have followed since then.

1946	Establishment of our forerunner company, Kyoei Kaihatsu K.K. has taken place.
1954	Omori factory was founded and MC-5 Truck Crane was developed.
1957	Development of Hydraulic Wheel Crane and Mechanical Crane took place.
1961	We developed cranes with lifting capacities of 1 ton and 2 ton.
1963	Cranes with lifting capacity of 3 ton was developed.
1967	U-200R special medium heavy-duty crane with lifting capacity of 2 ton has been a big hit in the transportation field.
1968	Founded Sakura factory at the prime location of Sakura City.
1970	We changed our company name to UNIC CORPORATION.
1972	Model U-300R was developed for heavy duty trucks. It has lifting capacity of 3 ton.
1976	U-500A and UR-25 models with lifting capacity of 5 ton and 2.5 ton were developed for medium to heavy duty trucks.
1977	Model UR-30M Series Crane was developed for the forerunner business to be installed at heavy-duty trucks.
1979	UR-30MT is a 3-section crane used for Remo-Con Wired Remote Control Device and heavy-duty trucks.
1980	UR-30MT 4 section crane was developed for High Outrigger crane and other heavy duty cranes.
1982	Began selling 100,000 units of UNIC Cranes.
1983	Drum-free canes and A.A. System were developed.
1984	UR-50VA possessing lifting capacity of 5 ton was developed to be mounted on heavy-duty trucks.
1985	UR-30VAV is a fully automatic 5-section for medium to heavy duty trucks.
1986	The development of hexagonal boom-type fully automatic 6-section telescoping boom crane began with care.
1988	Began selling UNIC Cranes and our sales topped 150,000 units.
1989	In this year, we changed our company name to FURUKAWA UNIC CORPORATION.
1990	The sales of our offered UNIC Cranes topped 200,000 units.
1991	Began with the development of UNI-Hook automatic hook black stow system. Also, celebrated 30 years of selling UNIC Cranes.
1994	Sales of UNIC Cranes enhanced to 250,000 units and developed small power Radio Control Device.
1997	Accredited with ISO 9001 certification and completed 35 years of our business. And, our sales of cranes reached 300,000 units.
1998	Developed Morment limiter device.
1999	Began the development of technologically advanced UR-V Series.
2001	Awarded with ISO 14001 certification.
2002	U-CAN Series, radio remote control system and new control valve were developed.
2003	Touched 330,000 units of UNIC Crane sales and also setup Taian Furukawa UNIC Machinery Co. Ltd. in China.
2005	Our sales of UNIC Cranes reached 350,000 units.
2006	U-CAN ECO Series was developed for saving energy and conserving nature.
2009	Set the foundation of TAIAN FURUKAWA UNIC CRANE CO. LTD. in China.
2011	Celebration of Golden Jubilee of our business.
2013	LLC FURUKAWA UNIC RUS in Russia was built.

The environment which we maintain in our premises leads to higher production rate without letting work quality of our employees get compromised. Moreover, all our employees work in coordination with each other and also follow systematic work approach for performing our business operations. This work environment reflects how rich work culture we have.

UNIC At Work

All Sci-Fi movie lovers would easily recognize Bumblebee, the star of Transformer movie series. The bumblebee machine was an assembly of 4 separate pieces and the largest piece weighing 1500 kg. Lifting such heavy weight would not have been possible without the use of some good quality and heavy duty crane. We feel proud in stating that the lifting of all its parts was done with the crane built by us. URW 706 model of Trucked Mounted Crane engineered by us was used for lifting all its section with ease. Its capacity of lifting to a height of 19.5m was enough for assembling this 8m high machine superstar. Although our URW 706 is one of the most powerful cranes in our entire crane range yet is quite compact in nature.
